You have the chance to win a £25 voucher every week and a grand prize, a £100 Amazon voucher.


Your photos are helping us to represent student life and digital learning on our Digital Education website, blog and social media, including Twitter and Instagram.

This is how it works

Who can enter

Entries are open to students, staff and anyone based in Oxford interested in photography.

The competition opens on 22 October (Week 3) and closes on 15 December 2018.

    How to enter

    To enter the competition

    1. follow @acitoxford on Twitter or Instagram,
    2. tag your photo #TodayAtOxford and
    3. also tag your photo @acitoxford so we can find it more easily.

    We will repost your photo to our account. After you have entered, we may contact you via direct message to ask you for a high-res version of your photo. If you don't have a Twitter or Instagram account, please contact us by email for more information.


    By entering your photo you agree to a non-exclusive licence, meaning you can use your photos for purposes other than this competition and we do not claim exclusive rights. As the photographer, you need to make sure that all recognisable individuals in your image have agreed to your submission. You agree to Terms and Conditions below when submitting your photo to the competition.

    Vote for your favourite

    We want you to vote for the best photo by giving your favourite a thumbs up. Every Tuesday at 5pm, we announce the weekly winner based on the highest number of likes of the reposts and regrams on our channels.

    Weekly prizes are waiting for you

    Every week, you have the chance to win a £25 voucher. Weekly winners are chosen by the online community. This means the ealier you enter, the greater your chance to win.

    Please note that the same photo is not eligible for two weekly prices. In case the same photo has the greatest number of likes in two weeks, the photo with the second highest number of likes will win.

    A grand prize for the final winner

    For the grand prize, a £100 Amazon voucher, all entries will be taken into consideration.

    Your entry will be judged based on aesthetic quality, originality and adherence to the terms and conditions of the competition.

    All prize winners will be contacted via email and publicly announced on Twitter and Instagram.

    The competition closes 15 December 2018.

    Further Terms and Conditions

    Image quality

    Photographs should be of high visual quality and in full colour. Images should not be digitally manipulated beyond cropping and tone/lighting enhancements, and should not display frames, text or watermarks. The maximum size is 5MB. Ideally, the resolution of submitted photographs should be at least 300dpi at A4.

    Authorship and copyright

    All images must be your own work and you must be the sole owner of the entire copyright in all images entered. It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with this requirement. By entering, you will be deemed to be bound by the rules and the University of Oxford reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time if it has reason to believe that an entrant has breached the rules.

    By entering the competition you grant the University of Oxford a non-exclusive licence to use your image(s). You retain the copyright in your image(s). By entering the competition you agree to the use of your submitted image(s), along with your name and course, by the University of Oxford for the following purposes:

    1. publication on;

    2. promotion of all Academic IT-related activities at the University of Oxford in any other media; and

    3. publication in print materials promoting teaching and learning with technology at the University of Oxford.

    All photographs will be fully credited to the photographer wherever it is feasible to do so.

    If you have submitted a photograph of an individual or a group in a private setting, you must have obtained the prior consent of all recognisable individuals for the use of that photograph in accordance with this competition.

    Legality and safety

    Entries that depict or were obtained by contravention of the law or of University regulations and policies may be disqualified.

    Judging and prizes

    For all prizes, the judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. If a winner cannot be contacted, the University of Oxford reserves the right to offer the prize to another shortlisted entry. Additional prizes may be awarded and/or prizes may be shared at judges' discretion
